Vona is a small house above the old town. Breakfast comes from the garden, the evening cool from the harbour. There are no televisions; you will not miss them.
The house was built in 1968 for a sponge-diver's family; we divided it into eight rooms without touching its walls. The stone keeps the summer cool indoors — there is air conditioning, but it rarely runs.
Breakfast is on the terrace from eight to eleven: tomatoes from the garden, cheese from the village, the long table facing Meis. In the evening the terrace stays open to guests; the wine fridge is honestly priced.
No haggling, no surprises. Stays under three nights carry a 10% supplement.
Rates are per room, per night, breakfast included. They re-price with the selected season.
The corner room of the house. Both windows face the sea; the morning light is watched from bed.
For those who like to wake to boat sounds. There is a small Juliet balcony.
The only room with its own stone courtyard. Dinner can be served in it.
Built over the old cistern, the coolest room in the house. Also called the siesta room.
Alone on the roof floor. Sunset from inside the room, stars from its own terrace.
Its window opens into the purple bougainvillea. The most photographed corner of the house.
On the quiet back face, for light sleepers. The house library starts on this room's wall.
The largest room, directly above the breakfast terrace. Ideal for longer stays.
